A Community Built for Connection
Asian Girlies of Boston was created to bring together Asian women across the city through shared experiences, meaningful friendships, and curated events.
What began as a small idea has grown into a welcoming space where people can meet new friends, explore Boston together, and feel part of a supportive community. From museum outings and group dinners to cultural festivals and casual city meetups, AGB creates opportunities for people to show up, connect, and create lasting memories together.
Meet Emma
Founder, Asian Girlies of Boston
Emma attended New York University, where living in NYC meant constantly meeting new people and forming friendships outside the university bubble.
When she later moved to Boston for graduate school, she realized building those same kinds of connections wasn’t always as easy. One-on-one “friend dates” often came with the same pressure and awkwardness as romantic dating.
She started Asian Girlies of Boston to change that — creating group spaces where meeting new people feels natural, low-pressure, and centered around shared experiences across the city.

Can I come to events solo, or do I need to know someone in the group?
Most people come solo! Our events are designed so you can show up on your own and easily meet new people. Asian Girlies of Boston takes the pressure off one-on-one friend “dating” and creates space to connect with multiple people naturally.
Do events cost anything to attend?
It depends on the event. Some meetups are completely free, while others require an RSVP with payment ahead of time to cover things like class bookings, reservations, or venue space. Occasionally there are optional costs for food or drinks.
I don’t identify as Asian or as a woman. Can I still attend?
Asian Girlies of Boston is a space specifically for Asian women to connect and build friendships. For now, events are limited to those who identify with that experience so we can maintain the supportive environment we’re building together.
What’s the vibe at events? Is there anything I should keep in mind?
Think welcoming, low-pressure, and friendly. Many people attend solo, and events are designed to make it easy to meet others and start conversations.
How big are the events usually?
Events range from small meetups to larger group outings, but we try to keep gatherings at a size where it’s still easy to meet and talk with new people.
